Spicy Steaks Strips

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons butter
2 lb. Round steak, cut in strips
½ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup chopped onion
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
½ cup red wine
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1 small stick cinnamon
½ teaspoon whole cloves
1/8 teaspoon cumin
2 tablespoon raisins

Procedure:

In 3 quart casserole place butter, heat until melted. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. Stir into melted butter until each piece is coated. Sprinkle onions over meat.

In small bowl mix together tomato paste, wine vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, cumin and raisins. Pour over meat and onions and cover. Cook about 75 to 85 minutes, stirring after 40minutes, until tender. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before servings.
